Details of the Crime

  • Initial Contact: The suspect, identified as Kongkai, reportedly groomed the victim on Facebook for two weeks before luring her out
  • Abduction: Posing as a friendly acquaintance, he convinced the girl to join him for a motorcycle ride on August 12, 2023
  • Assault: Instead of a casual outing, Kongkai took her to a hotel in Samut Prakan, where he and an accomplice allegedly assaulted her
  • Second Location: The victim was then manipulated into going to a residence in Chon Buri before she escaped and contacted her mother

Police Response & Arrest

  • Authorities, led by Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom, tracked and arrested Kongkai on June 17 outside a Bang Na condominium
  • The Khlong Dan Police Station is handling the investigation, with charges expected to include abduction and sexual assault of a minor
  • Police warn that crimes involving victims under 15 can lead to up to 20 years imprisonment
