Arizona Road Rage Shooting Kills TikTok Mom

A tragic case of road rage turned deadly in Glendale, Arizona, when a young mother and popular TikTok creator was killed by a stray bullet while simply sitting at a stoplight with her family.

The victim, 27-year-old Yarely Ashley Hermosillo, was in the passenger seat of her boyfriend’s car late Saturday night, August 17, when the fatal shooting occurred. The couple, joined by their 4-year-old son, had driven out to pick up Hermosillo’s mother from work. At about 11:45 p.m., they stopped at a red light at the intersection of West Camelback Road and North 51st Avenue. Without warning, a gunshot pierced the front windshield and struck Hermosillo in the face.

Her boyfriend raced her to a nearby hospital, but tragically, she did not survive her injuries.

Investigators quickly learned that Hermosillo had not been targeted. Instead, the bullet that ended her life came from a heated road rage dispute in the lane next to her. Police identified the shooter as 33-year-old Jesus Preciado Dousten, who allegedly had an altercation with another driver just moments before the shooting.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the other driver told police that a pickup truck, later confirmed to be driven by Dousten, cut him off and forced him to brake sharply. After honking, the man pulled into another lane and came to a stop at the traffic light. Dousten pulled up alongside him and, in Spanish, allegedly yelled, “You want some of this?” before brandishing a firearm.

Dousten then fired a shot out of his driver’s side window, apparently aiming in a random direction. That bullet struck Hermosillo’s vehicle, killing her instantly. Witnesses told police that Dousten appeared intoxicated at the time.

Street cameras helped detectives track Dousten’s truck, and he was arrested the following day. Officers also recovered the suspected murder weapon from the home of a friend, who told police Dousten admitted to being involved in a road rage altercation and firing his gun—unaware at first that his shot had killed someone.

Dousten now faces charges of second-degree murder and aggravated assault. Police also revealed that he was involved in a separate road rage incident two months prior, during which he allegedly punched another driver in the face.

“This family deserved justice, and we’re grateful this dangerous man is now off the streets,” Glendale police spokesman Jose Santiago told local media.

The loss has devastated Hermosillo’s family and followers. Known for her vibrant TikTok account where she shared recipes and food content with more than 100,000 followers, she was remembered as a loving wife and devoted mother.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help cover funeral expenses and support her husband and young son. The family wrote: “Yarely was a beautiful soul whose light touched everyone. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother, and now her little boy faces life without her love and care.”

What should have been a routine late-night drive to pick up her mother ended in senseless tragedy—a chilling reminder of how quickly road rage can spiral into irreversible violence.
