CHONBURI — Bang Lamung police have arrested a suspected drug mule with narcotics worth over 1 million baht in a sweeping operation targeting local drug networks. The suspect, Mr. Rathip Nimsuwan, 24, also known as “Om,” was apprehended in a rented room in Soi Nong Hin 7, Moo 9, Nong Prua Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District.
The operation was led by Pol. Lt. Col. Supawat Lattapricha, Deputy Superintendent of Investigation, along with Pol. Lt. Col. Pakon Tenmankiew and Pol. Lt. Thongthawat Phonlakhon. Authorities had been monitoring Mr. Rathip’s unusual behavior — particularly his habit of parking near electrical poles and taking photographs — before closing in on the suspect.
Upon initial search, police discovered 10 grams of ketamine. A further search of the room yielded a large quantity of hidden drugs, including:
- 943 grams of crystal meth (“ice”)
- 5,828 methamphetamine tablets (yaba)
- 1,454 multicolored ecstasy tablets
- 517.5 grams of ketamine
During interrogation, Mr. Rathip confessed to working as a “drug dropper” for an unnamed drug investor. He was responsible for distributing drugs by hiding them near utility poles, particularly around the Khao Talo to Thung Klam-Talman area between 8:00 PM and 1:00 AM. After placing the packages, he would photograph the location and send the images to drug buyers, using pole codes as location markers.
He claimed to be paid between 1,000 and 2,000 baht per day and handled 10–15 drop points daily.
Mr. Rathip has been handed over to Bang Lamung Police Station for legal processing. Authorities are now working to trace the wider drug network linked to this operation, vowing to expand the investigation and bring further suspects to justice.
