Cambodian Hacker Group Defaces Thai Websites Faces Arrest

Thai cyber police have obtained arrest warrants for a Cambodian hacker collective accused of defacing multiple Thai government websites amid the ongoing Thai-Cambodian border dispute.

The Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) is collaborating with international agencies to locate and extradite the suspects, who remain anonymous, for prosecution under Thai law.

The investigation began after an alert on June 3 from the “Cyber Intelligence Community,” a network of government IT specialists. The group reported threats from a Cambodian hacker collective called “bl4ck_cyb3r” to launch DDoS attacks and deface Thai government websites in protest over the border tensions.

Between April and June, several government websites were targeted and defaced by hacker groups including “ANONSEC-KH,” “H3C4KEDZ,” and “NXBBSEC (Hacker Cambodia).”

Pol Lt Gen Trirong Piwpan, commissioner of the CCIB, confirmed that two arrest warrants had been approved by the court under the Computer Crimes Act. Pol Col Pakornkitt Thanawarinkul, superintendent of CCIB Division 2, said efforts are ongoing to identify and bring the suspects to Thailand for legal action.

Authorities emphasize their commitment to combating cybercrime and maintaining the security of government digital infrastructure amid the politically sensitive border dispute.
