Foreign Man Assaulted and Robbed in Pattaya Alley

PATTAYA, Thailand — A foreign man was brutally assaulted and robbed on a busy Pattaya street before seeking help from a condominium security guard and later filing a report at Muang Pattaya Police Station.

The victim, identified as Gurov, was accompanied by his Thai girlfriend when he spoke to police after receiving medical treatment. According to a report by Channel 7, Gurov’s clothing was bloodstained, and he suffered multiple bruises and wounds to his face and neck.

Gurov recounted the incident, stating he had parked his motorcycle at the side of the road to urinate and smoke a cigarette. As he was zipping up, a motorcycle with a sidecar approached and parked behind him. A Thai man and a young girl, believed to be the man’s daughter, were on the vehicle.

Without warning, the man reportedly attacked Gurov from behind, repeatedly striking him in the head and face with a wooden stick until he lost consciousness. When he awoke, he discovered his passport, mobile phone, driving licence, and other personal belongings had been stolen.

Pattaya police told local Facebook news outlet Chalarm News that the location of the incident was not considered dangerous and was commonly used by motorists. The assault reportedly occurred before sunset, adding to concerns given the area’s usually active environment.

Authorities are now reviewing security camera footage from nearby buildings and are cooperating with the condominium’s management to obtain additional CCTV evidence. An investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend the suspect.
