Georgia Teen Charged in Parents’ Murders Posted on TikTok
A Georgia teenager accused of fatally shooting her mother and stepfather posted emotional videos on TikTok in the months following their deaths, according to local authorities.
Sarah Patrick, 17, of Tyus, has been charged as an adult with two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault. Police allege she killed her mother, Kristin Brock, and stepfather, James Brock, inside the family’s home in February.
Patrick was arrested on July 8 after her biological father, Doniel Patrick, turned her over to authorities.
Police say they were alerted to disturbing posts on Patrick’s TikTok account, @sgrace04282, which featured cryptic messages and selfies referencing her parents’ deaths. In one video posted on May 17, she wrote:
“If you asked me about my mom and step dad, I’d say I miss them so much. But if you were to ask me on a deeper level, I’d tell you that I just wanna go home. I feel so home sick and I miss them so much I can’t stand the fact I can’t see them anymore this sucks more than anything possible. I feel like I’m in a horror movie that never ends. And on top of everything I still have no answers, im so confused on how someone could’ve done this and even more confuse on why. Why them? Why that? Just why. How could they.”
She captioned that post, “Should prob delete later.”
Patrick continued posting throughout the spring and early summer. On March 1, she shared another video referencing the murders:
“They don’t know it but a year from now me and my 5 year old sister would find them wrongfully shot dead in our home and won’t get to watch me graduate high school, see me walk down the aisle, and couldn’t even say goodbye.”
Police confirmed the TikTok account belongs to Patrick.
Kristin and James Brock were found dead on Feb. 20 after a 911 call from Sarah, who claimed her 6-year-old sister had discovered their bodies. Ashley Hulsey, spokesperson for the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, said the younger child was unaware of what had truly happened.
“Smallest daughter found them and then she came and told Sarah, and Sarah made the 911 call,” Hulsey said at a press conference. “Sarah was in the home.”
Following her parents’ deaths, Patrick’s biological father publicly expressed support for his daughter, sharing a message on Facebook saying:
“To My Daughter, never doubt your place in this world. You were sent here with purpose, wrapped in grace, and born to shine in ways only your soul knows how. I see you, I believe in you, and I’ll always be in your corner.”
Police say the investigation into the murders is ongoing, and they have not ruled out the involvement of other individuals.
“Considering that she didn’t just immediately tell us what happened, yes [she tried to hide it],” Hulsey said. “But who knows what’s going on in a young person’s mind like that.”
Sarah Patrick is currently facing prosecution as an adult, with authorities continuing to gather evidence about the shocking case.
