Thailand— A gunman disguised as a delivery rider unleashed a deadly shooting spree on a group of drinkers outside a house in Mueang Rangsit on the evening of June 4, leaving two men dead and several others injured. The attacker continued his rampage by pursuing victims to a nearby hospital, firing shots at the entrance before fleeing on a motorcycle.
The incident occurred around 10:25 p.m. outside house number 129/15 on Soi Rong Pui YVP in Lat Lum Kaeo district. According to eyewitnesses, the assailant, dressed in a green delivery uniform and riding a white Honda Wave 125i motorcycle, approached a group of six men drinking outside the residence.
“He claimed to be a delivery rider, but when told there was no order, he suddenly pulled out a gun and started shooting,” said Virat, a 33-year-old pickup truck driver who was among the group. “Two men were hit, and we rushed them to Lat Lum Kaeo Hospital immediately.”
The victims, identified as 32-year-old firefighter Mana Sisang and 32-year-old mortuary worker Narin Asa, sustained fatal gunshot wounds to the body and head. Despite frantic efforts to save them, both men died from their injuries.
Witnesses at the hospital described a chaotic scene as the gunman followed the pickup truck transporting the injured. At the hospital entrance, the attacker fired multiple shots at the vehicle and people nearby, scattering bullet casings and shattering windows of the outpatient building.
Somsak Chonniyom, a 42-year-old village head, said the normally peaceful neighborhood was thrown into turmoil. “This area is usually quiet, with neighbors gathering peacefully for meals and drinks,” he said. “We are shocked that something like this could happen here.”
Police Lieutenant Colonel Saksit Boonrak, who is leading the investigation, confirmed that the suspect fled on his motorcycle after the hospital attack. Authorities have recovered more than a dozen bullet casings from the scenes and are interviewing witnesses to uncover the motive.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a love triangle may have been involved, though police have yet to confirm this theory. “We are looking into all possible motives and will follow all leads to bring the suspect to justice,” Lt Col Saksit said.
The incident has shaken the community and raised concerns over public safety in the popular suburban district. Local officials are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
The two victims were sent to the Institute of Forensic Science for autopsy. Police continue to gather evidence and await further information from witnesses as the investigation progresses.
