Indian Jeweler Robbed in Pattaya by Suspects

A 27-year-old Indian jewelry shop owner has reported being robbed of a gold necklace valued at approximately 150,000 baht in Pattaya. The victim, identified as Mr. Hemanth Kumer, filed the complaint at Pattaya City Police Station, claiming that two transgender individuals were responsible for the theft.

The incident allegedly occurred in Soi Beach Road 13/2. Mr. Kumer told police he had been walking in the area when two scantily clad transgender suspects approached him, offering escort services. Despite his refusal, the pair allegedly continued to follow him, making physical contact by embracing and groping him.

According to Mr. Kumer, he managed to disengage from the encounter and walk away. Later, he discovered that his gold necklace — weighing around 40 grams and worth approximately 150,000 baht — was missing. The suspects had already fled and could not be located.

The complaint was received by Pol. Lt. Kriangkrai Kaewphiphop, deputy investigator at Pattaya City Police Station, who immediately alerted patrol units to search for the suspects based on the victim’s description. However, no arrests have been made so far.

Police Colonel Anek Sarathongyoo, superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station, has instructed investigative teams to gather further evidence. Efforts include reviewing CCTV footage from the area, interviewing potential witnesses, and verifying the timeline of events.

Authorities are proceeding with caution, as investigators noted inconsistencies in Mr. Kumer’s account. Pol. Lt. Kriangkrai warned that if the claims are proven false, the complainant could face legal consequences for filing a false police report.

If the allegations are substantiated, police plan to issue warrants for the suspects and proceed with legal action. The case remains under investigation as officers work to establish the facts and track down the individuals involved.
