PATTAYA — An Indian tourist filed a police complaint after allegedly being robbed by two transgender individuals he invited to his hotel room in Pattaya. The incident took place at a hotel in Soi Pattaya 10 and is currently under investigation by local authorities.
Mr. Ghayal, the victim, reported the theft to Pol. Lt. Col. Saijai Khamjulla, an investigating officer at Pattaya City Police Station. The case has been acknowledged by Pol. Col. Anek Srathongyoo, superintendent of the station.
According to Mr. Ghayal, he had met the two transgender individuals on the beach and invited them back to his hotel for companionship. One of the individuals suggested they take a shower together, while the other waited on the bed. After the shower, Mr. Ghayal noticed irregularities with his wallet and found that 600 Euros (approximately 22,000 baht) and 50,000 Indian Rupees (approximately 19,000 baht) were missing.
When he confronted the individual who had stayed on the bed, she gave vague answers before fleeing the room. As Mr. Ghayal attempted to pursue her, the other individual stopped him, insisting he had simply misplaced the money. Moments later, she also fled, and both suspects escaped in a waiting vehicle.
Following the incident, Mr. Ghayal went directly to the police to file a complaint. Officers have launched an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage and other leads in an effort to identify and apprehend the suspects.
Authorities have promised to pursue legal action against those responsible and urge tourists to exercise caution when interacting with strangers.
