Manhunt Underway After Fatal Stabbing

A police manhunt is underway in Lop Buri province after a violent outburst ended in tragedy. On the evening of September 13, a man known only as “Mr. Se” fatally stabbed his wife’s friend in what authorities believe was an act driven by jealousy and frustration over his missing wife.

The attack occurred at around 8:30 p.m. in a rented room in Mueang district. Responding to reports of the incident, Police Lieutenant Colonel Peerawat Khamkrasin and Police Colonel Chaimit Sittipoon arrived at the scene with investigators, forensic officers, medical staff, and Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers.

They discovered the body of 29-year-old Sin Mae Phiw lying partly on a bamboo bed outside room number 11. She had suffered a fatal stab wound to the chest and another to her wrist. A nearby table was cluttered with beer bottles and snacks, evidence of a gathering that turned deadly.

Investigations revealed that Sin Mae Phiw, an employee at a local company, had been targeted after Mr. Se accused her of hiding information about his wife, Wan. According to police, Wan had left Samut Sakhon province and was believed to be in Lop Buri, but her exact whereabouts remained unknown. For several days, Mr. Se had searched for her, convinced that her friends were concealing her location.

In a fit of rage, he allegedly attacked Sin Mae Phiw before fleeing into a nearby forest. Police are now combing the area to track him down.

The case has intensified concerns over domestic and relationship-based violence in Thailand, an issue that has drawn growing criticism due to limited protections for women and vulnerable partners. Experts argue that stronger intervention and preventive measures are needed to prevent such tragedies from recurring.

As of now, police continue their manhunt for the suspect, urging the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings. Meanwhile, the death of Sin Mae Phiw has left the community shaken, highlighting once again how personal conflicts can spiral into devastating violence.
