Michigan Man Accused of Killing Fiancée Over Roommate Rift

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Michigan – A 25-year-old man is facing first-degree murder charges after allegedly stabbing his fiancée to death in a chilling domestic violence case that has shocked suburban Detroit.

Seth Thomas Martin reportedly called 911 around 3:41 p.m. Friday to confess to stabbing 33-year-old Mallory Myers inside their Waterford Township home. Officers arriving at the scene found Martin waiting outside with blood on his arms. Inside, they discovered Myers dead from multiple stab wounds.

According to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office, Martin told police he had attacked Myers while they were lying in bed. She was on her phone when he allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed her between five and ten times, including in the neck, chest, and arm.

Prosecutors say Martin admitted to stabbing her in the neck first because he “wanted it to take less time.” He then called 911 and, when asked to apply pressure to the wounds, told dispatchers there were “too many.”

During the call, Martin reportedly said, “She’s right next to me — she’s not doing good,” and admitted, “I stabbed her in the neck, the chest, arm a couple times.” Investigators revealed he claimed to have fantasized about killing Myers “early on” in the relationship.

The alleged motive, according to Martin’s own statement, was that he believed Myers was “driving a wedge” between him and his roommate.

Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald condemned the killing and highlighted the broader issue of domestic violence.

“Mallory Myers wasn’t a statistic,” McDonald said. “Her life had purpose, and she should be with us still. We intend to bring Mallory’s killer to justice.”

Martin is currently being held in the Oakland County Jail without bond. His next court date is scheduled for June 27.
