Pattaya, Thailand – A joint operation between Chonburi Provincial Police and Pattaya City Police has led to the arrest of two men suspected of trafficking narcotics to teenagers in Pattaya’s popular tourist areas.
The operation was conducted under the directives of Pol. Maj. Gen. Thawatchai Jindakuansanong, Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police, and Pol. Col. Chatree Suksiri, Deputy Commander. Authorities seized nearly four kilograms of illegal drugs and a firearm during the operation.
The suspects, Burin “Oat” Pholwiwat, 31, and Chatchawan “Boy” Wongthong, 36, were arrested in front of a condominium on South Pattaya Road. Acting on a tip-off, undercover officers set up a sting operation, catching the pair as they attempted to deliver drugs.
Subsequent searches were conducted at two properties linked to the suspects: an apartment in Ban Eua Arthorn Mueang Mai Bang Phli and a rental room in Theparak Soi 7, both in Bang Sao Thong, Samut Prakan.
From the raids, police confiscated:
- 3,915 grams of crystal methamphetamine (ice)
- 300 grams of ketamine
- 7,000 methamphetamine pills
- Drug packaging equipment including scales and zip-lock bags
- A modified blank gun
- Six .38 caliber bullets
During questioning, both suspects admitted to working as drug couriers for an unidentified supplier. They revealed they were instructed to drop off narcotics at pre-arranged locations throughout Pattaya.
Charges filed against the suspects include:
- Possession and distribution of Category 1 and 2 narcotics for commercial purposes
- Illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition
- Carrying a weapon in public without a valid reason
- Driving under the influence of methamphetamine
The two men are now in custody under the jurisdiction of Pattaya City Police as investigations continue into the broader drug network.
Authorities emphasized their ongoing efforts to curb drug distribution, especially operations targeting vulnerable youth in high-traffic tourist areas.
