Porsche Driver Kills Motorcyclist in Songkhla Family Seeks Justice

Songkhla, Thailand – A tragic accident in Songkhla province has claimed the life of a female motorcyclist after she was struck from behind by a luxury Porsche Cayenne SUV. The victim’s husband has appealed for justice amid claims that the driver threatened the family to drop legal action.

The incident occurred on Kanchana Wanit Road in Mueang district on the early morning of June 8. The victim, Thong-uraiwan Phramana, 38, was riding her motorcycle when the Porsche, driven by 30-year-old Pitchaya Lapakun, reportedly crashed into her from behind, killing her instantly.

Supachai Suwannarat, 38, the victim’s husband, told ThaiRath that Thong-uraiwan worked as a cook and typically returned home by 5 a.m. on her shifts. When she failed to return on June 8, Supachai began searching and was later informed by neighbors that she had died. Her body was taken to Koh Yor Songkhla Hospital.

Supachai revealed that shortly after the accident, his mother received a phone call from an unknown man allegedly asking the family to abandon legal proceedings in exchange for financial compensation. Supachai’s mother, Chaweewan Sangkakun, refused the offer, stating that the family had no right to accept money and intended to pursue justice properly.

Witnesses described the Porsche driver as a woman in her 30s, accompanied by a male passenger, and suspected of being intoxicated at the time of the crash. Supachai accused local police of failing to conduct an alcohol test on the driver despite clear signs of intoxication.

According to ThaiRath, the driver, Pitchaya Lapakun, is reportedly the owner of a major battery manufacturing company in the province. Pitchaya did not attend the victim’s funeral, instead sending a representative.

Officers from Mueang Songkhla Police Station stated that no alcohol test was conducted as the driver was not present when police arrived. They also noted that no legal charges have been filed since the victim’s family initially wanted to focus on funeral arrangements.

Supachai described his late wife as kind-hearted and hardworking and vowed to pursue justice for her death.
