SUVARNABHUMI — Thai immigration police have arrested a Singaporean man at Suvarnabhumi Airport on serious charges tied to human trafficking and money laundering, authorities announced.
The suspect, identified as Mr. Dexter, was taken into custody on June 18 after arriving on Singapore Airlines flight SQ 714. Authorities had received intelligence that a foreign national wanted for prostitution-related crimes and financial offenses would be entering the country.
Mr. Dexter faces several criminal charges including:
- Conspiracy to procure, entice, or transport persons for immoral acts
- Promoting prostitution and receiving related benefits
- Advertising or soliciting prostitution via documents or public media
- Conspiracy to commit money laundering involving real transactions
Investigators believe the suspect was a key figure in a transnational sex trafficking ring, allegedly involved in recruiting young women for prostitution and funneling the proceeds through money laundering operations.
He has been transferred to the 3rd Operations Control Division of the Technology Crime Suppression Division for interrogation and case development. Authorities are now working to trace and dismantle the broader criminal network.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) is expected to release more details in an upcoming press briefing.
The Immigration Bureau reaffirmed its commitment to combatting transnational crimes and human trafficking, stressing ongoing coordination among local and international law enforcement agencies.
