Sydney Couple Stabbed in Mistaken Identity Attack

A late-night home invasion in western Sydney left a man and a woman hospitalized after they were stabbed multiple times in what police believe was a mistaken identity attack.

The incident unfolded around 11 p.m. on McCredie Road, Guildford West, when two masked men forced their way through the front door.

Violent Attack

Inside, they attacked a 41-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, stabbing both victims several times before neighbors rushed in to intervene. The couple’s three children, all under 10 years old, were inside at the time but were not physically harmed.

The attackers fled the scene, escaping into a white sedan driven by a third man. The car was last seen heading south along Lomond Street.

Victims in Hospital

Emergency crews treated the injured couple before transporting them to hospital, where they remain in stable condition.

Police Investigation

New South Wales Police say initial inquiries suggest the attack was targeted at the wrong address. Authorities believe the intruders may have mistaken the victims for others.

Detectives are now reviewing CCTV footage and appealing for public assistance to identify the attackers and locate the getaway vehicle.
