Taiwanese Man Arrested in Pattaya Drug Weapon Bust

A Taiwanese man was arrested in Pattaya after allegedly attacking his neighbours’ condo doors with a baseball bat while high on drugs, causing widespread panic in the building. Authorities later uncovered a cache of drugs and weapons inside his room.

The violent incident took place late Sunday night at a condominium in Jomtien. Immigration and Pattaya police responded to emergency calls about a foreign man violently hitting doors with a bat. The suspect, 22-year-old Mr Chen, was found inside his unit with a 25-year-old Thai woman, appearing intoxicated and agitated.

Police managed to deescalate the situation without injury and proceeded to search the unit. They discovered 6.56 grams of crystal meth, drug paraphernalia, eight mobile phones, two 9mm bullets, nine baseball bats, two metal rods, and two stun guns.

Mr Chen had entered Thailand on a student visa but reportedly spent his time partying, using drugs, and hiring sex workers. Investigators noted that he frequently posted videos of drug deals and sexual encounters online, openly flouting Thai laws.

He admitted to using meth for over a year, claiming he bought it from local youths. He told police the bats were for “exercise” and said he took the bullets from a shooting range as souvenirs.

The Thai woman, identified only as Ms A, told police she was hired by Mr Chen on three occasions, each lasting six hours, during which they used drugs together.

Mr Chen was charged with drug possession, illegal possession of ammunition, and drug use. Ms A was also charged with drug use. Both have been handed over to investigators for further legal action.
