Pattaya, Thailand – A suspected serial thief was apprehended by vendors and security personnel on Thursday night at a bustling night market in Pattaya after attempting to steal from a vendor’s stall.
According to eyewitnesses, the man was caught red-handed trying to snatch cash and goods from a stall when nearby vendors quickly intervened. A brief struggle ensued, but the suspect was overpowered and restrained until police arrived at the scene.
“We’ve seen him lurking around the market for several nights,” said one vendor. “Many of us have lost small amounts of money or merchandise recently, and we suspected it was the same person.”
Local police confirmed that the suspect, whose identity has not yet been released, is believed to be responsible for multiple thefts in the Pattaya area. He is currently in custody and facing multiple charges of theft.
The arrest brings relief to night market vendors, many of whom have grown increasingly concerned about theft disrupting their livelihoods.
Police are continuing to investigate whether the suspect is linked to other crimes in the area. More victims are being encouraged to come forward.
