Indian Tourist Robbed by Woman He Met on Pattaya Beach

PATTAYA, THAILAND — An Indian tourist’s stay in Pattaya took a criminal turn when he reported being robbed of valuables worth more than 20,000 baht by a woman he met on Pattaya beach.

Mr. Sudip, a 45-year-old Indian national, filed a complaint with Sub-Lieutenant Suteeraphan Thapsri at the Pattaya City Police Station after discovering that cash was missing from his hotel room.

According to Mr. Sudip, he had encountered the woman along Pattaya beach and invited her back to his hotel to “relax, watch movies, and hang out.” However, while he stepped into the bathroom, the woman disappeared — along with his cash and valuables.

In total, Mr. Sudip reported the theft of 5,000 baht in Thai currency and 30,000 Indian rupees, equivalent to nearly 20,000 baht.

CCTV footage from the hotel clearly captured the woman’s face as she entered the premises with Mr. Sudip. Investigators have collected the footage and are using it as evidence to identify and apprehend the suspect.

Police continue their efforts to track down the woman and pursue legal action.
