MAROOCHYDORE, QLD — Police have launched an investigation after the bodies of two men were discovered inside a unit on Kingsford Smith Parade in Maroochydore on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
Emergency services were called to the unit complex around 11:20am on Friday to perform a welfare check.
Inside, officers found a 65-year-old Maroochydore man and a 56-year-old Mountain Creek man, both deceased. Police say the older man was the resident of the unit, while the younger man was known to be a frequent visitor.
The unit has since been declared a crime scene as detectives work to piece together the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Police have not confirmed how long the men may have been deceased or whether foul play is suspected.
Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance. Investigators are urging anyone with information, or with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around Kingsford Smith Parade, to come forward.
