Detectives have made significant progress in the investigation into the murder of 24-year-old Blue Stevens, who was fatally stabbed in Knightsbridge earlier this month. Three men in their twenties have now been arrested as police continue to unravel the circumstances surrounding this tragic killing.
The stabbing occurred on the evening of Wednesday, 9 July, at around 9:24 pm, when officers and emergency services were called to reports of an assault on Seville Street, Knightsbridge. Upon arrival, police found Blue Stevens suffering from stab wounds. Despite rapid efforts by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, Stevens sadly died at the scene.
Following the murder, a detailed police investigation was launched, with specialist officers supporting the victim’s family. The Metropolitan Police have been working at pace to gather evidence and identify suspects. Over the weekend of 12 July, two men were arrested at a property in Hounslow. One was taken into custody on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and remains detained for questioning. The other was arrested on suspicion of murder but has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.
In addition to these arrests, officers obtained warrants to search two properties in Chiswick. The searches yielded significant evidence, though police have not disclosed the exact nature of the materials recovered, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
On Monday, 14 July, a third man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. He remains in police custody as inquiries continue.
Detective Chief Superintendent Christina Jessah, leading policing efforts in Central West London, commented on the developments, describing the arrests as a “significant milestone” in a complex and unfolding investigation. She stated that while the motive remains unclear, one line of enquiry is now considering that the attack may have been targeted, rather than random.
“Increased police patrols remain active in and around the Knightsbridge area,” she added, urging local residents and visitors to approach officers with any questions or concerns.
The Metropolitan Police have emphasized their commitment to solving the case swiftly and thoroughly, balancing the need for public safety with the ongoing investigative process. The arrest of these individuals marks an important step forward, but officers continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
Blue Stevens’ family continues to receive support from specialist officers as they cope with the loss of their loved one.
The case has drawn attention to violent crime in central London, and the Met Police’s efforts aim to reassure the public through visible patrols and proactive policing in the area.
Anyone with information related to the murder or the suspects is urged to contact the Metropolitan Police via their non-emergency number or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
