Mystery Deepens in Disappearance of Pattaya Woman as Human Skull Discovered
PATTAYA, Thailand — A chilling mystery continues to unfold in Pattaya as authorities intensify their investigation into the disappearance of 43-year-old Methinee Julamantana, also known as “May,” who has been missing for over 20 days. The case took a grim turn this week with the discovery of a human skull in Chachoengsao province, raising fears it may be linked to the missing woman.
Methinee was last seen in Soi Buakhao, a busy nightlife district in Central Pattaya, on May 5, 2025. According to a widely shared Facebook post, her family filed a missing person report with Pattaya City Police shortly after she stopped responding to calls and messages. Her sudden disappearance, coupled with reported problems in her relationship with a foreign boyfriend, has fueled growing concern.
Reporters investigating the case on May 28 visited a local bar in Soi Buakhao where Methinee was known to spend time. There, a friend of the missing woman, a 44-year-old identified only as “Ms. Nee,” described Methinee’s relationship with a man named Petru — believed to be a 42-year-old foreign national, possibly from Beius, Romania.

According to Nee, the couple were regulars at the bar and often played pool together, but their relationship was marred by frequent arguments. Nee recounted that after Methinee’s disappearance, Petru approached her in distress, saying, “I love this woman so much. Does she have another man? I want her back.” Methinee had previously confided in Nee that Petru was allegedly unfaithful, contributing to mounting tension between the two.
More troubling details emerged from a phone conversation on May 6, the day after Methinee was last seen. She reportedly called Nee in a panic, saying, “Help me, I can’t take it anymore. I can’t stay here. Can I come stay with you?” The call lasted only a minute, and subsequent attempts to reach her were unsuccessful. Her messages went unanswered, and her LINE account appeared to be deactivated or blocked.
Authorities have yet to confirm whether the human remains discovered in Chachoengsao are connected to Methinee’s case, but forensic analysis is underway. Police are pursuing multiple leads and urge anyone with information to come forward.

The disappearance has shaken the local community and raised fresh questions about the safety of women involved in vulnerable relationships. Methinee’s family continues to hope for answers — and for the safe return of a woman whose fate remains tragically uncertain.
