A British man was injured in a violent mob attack after allegedly performing a dangerous wheelie on an electric dirt bike and colliding with a Thai woman’s motorcycle in Pattaya late Wednesday night. The incident occurred at approximately 11:06 p.m. on Soi Bongkot 8 in tambon Nong Prue, Bang Lamung district.
Rescue workers arriving at the scene found a pink Honda Scoopy I lying damaged in the middle of the road. Its rider, identified only as 49-year-old Jurairat, suffered a serious head injury and deep lacerations. Emergency responders administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) before rushing her to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment.
Witnesses reported that the British rider had been performing a wheelie — lifting the front wheel of his electric dirt bike — when he lost control and slammed directly into Jurairat’s motorcycle. The impact threw both riders onto the road, leaving the woman critically injured.
However, according to those at the scene, the injured foreign rider began blaming Jurairat for the collision. His remarks infuriated bystanders, who believed his reckless stunt had caused the crash. The tense situation quickly escalated, and members of the crowd began physically attacking the British man.
The assault continued until local police officers and rescue volunteers arrived. Authorities intervened to stop the violence, and first aid was provided to the foreign rider, who had sustained injuries during the attack. He was later transported to a medical facility for further treatment.
Police are now reviewing nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage to determine the exact sequence of events and assign responsibility for the collision. Officers emphasized that the investigation would be impartial, with fairness extended to both the Thai victim and the British rider.
The crash has sparked renewed discussion in Pattaya over reckless driving and the safety risks posed by stunts on public roads. Performing wheelies and other tricks on busy streets not only violates traffic laws but also endangers pedestrians, motorists, and the riders themselves.
Authorities have urged both locals and tourists to adhere to road safety regulations, warning that violations can lead to legal action, injury, or even death. The case remains under investigation, and police have not yet confirmed whether charges will be filed against either party.
For now, the focus remains on the recovery of Ms. Jurairat, whose condition was reported as serious following the collision, and on ensuring that justice is served for all involved in this high-profile Pattaya incident.
