Pattaya Pool Villa Attack Sparks Manhunt

On August 22, 2025, Pattaya police launched a dramatic manhunt after a violent villa invasion left a woman terrified and sparked a chaotic chase through Chonburi.

Pol. Col. Anek Srathongyoo, Superintendent of the Pattaya City Police Station, received a distress call from a Thai woman who had managed to escape captivity. The woman, believed to be in her thirties, told officers she had been bound with a cable tie, threatened at gunpoint, and locked inside a bedroom of a South Pattaya pool villa.

According to her account, two Chinese men entered the villa looking for her Chinese husband. They tied her wrists, warned her to wait quietly, and locked her in the room. Fearing for her life, she struggled free and fled to a neighbor for help.

When police arrived, they found the distraught woman and quickly learned the suspects had already fled in a white Toyota sedan. Both men reportedly concealed their faces, one wearing a cap and mask.

As officers attempted to intercept the vehicle, the suspects rammed into a patrol motorcycle and hit a parked car before escaping the villa community. The chase extended over 20 kilometers, with police setting up roadblocks, but the suspects managed to elude capture by diverting onto back roads near Huay Yai Road.

Neighbors told police the woman screamed for help, claiming the men intended to ransom her. Despite their violent escape, no one was physically harmed.

Both the woman and her husband were taken in for questioning, though their statements were inconsistent and raised further suspicion. Investigators believe the attack may stem from debt issues, personal disputes, or a business conflict, though robbery has not been ruled out.

Superintendent Anek confirmed a full-scale manhunt is underway. Police are reviewing CCTV footage along possible escape routes to track the fugitives.

The shocking case has rattled Pattaya residents, as brazen daytime violence in a quiet residential villa underscores ongoing concerns about organized crime in the resort city.

Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings of the suspects or their vehicle. Updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
