Pattaya Raids Net 30 Drug Users 2 Dealers

Pattaya authorities arrested 32 people in coordinated drug raids across two communities, uncovering widespread narcotics use and trafficking.

Banglamung District Chief Patcharapat Srithanyanon ordered the operation after receiving public complaints about escalating drug activity. The joint task force included administrative officials and officers from Pattaya City and Nong Prue Police Stations, led by Kamphrai Laosaen, a senior security and narcotics suppression officer.

First Target: Naklua Housing Project

The first raid took place at the Naklua Low-Cost Housing Project. Authorities locked down the area and searched residences, uncovering eight drug users—mostly teenagers and security guards employed within the community. Officers seized crystal methamphetamine (“ice”) along with paraphernalia used for consumption.

Second Target: “Dog Building”

The second location, an apartment complex in Soi Pattaya Klang 12, known locally as the “Dog Building,” shocked authorities with its unsanitary conditions, including dog feces, urine, garbage, and a foul stench.

A room-by-room search from the second to fourth floors revealed widespread narcotics use. Nearly all residents were implicated. Officers discovered methamphetamine pills, crystal meth, and distribution supplies such as ziplock bags.

A total of 22 residents—nine women and 13 men—were arrested on drug charges.

Policy Enforcement

District Chief Patcharapat emphasized that the raids are part of the Ministry of Interior’s nationwide “No Drugs, No Dealers” policy, directed by Deputy Prime Minister and acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai.

The crackdown highlights the government’s effort to restore public safety in Pattaya communities plagued by drug problems, with further operations expected.
