Knife-Wielding Attacker Hunted After Pattaya Assault

Police in Pattaya are urgently hunting a knife-wielding attacker who lured a bar worker into an abandoned building, assaulted her, and attempted to rape her before fleeing with stolen property.

The shocking incident happened on the night of August 30 inside Soi Phra Tamnak 6, Mueang Pattaya, in Chonburi province’s Bang Lamung district. The victim, a 47-year-old woman identified only as “Bee” for privacy, reported the attack days later on September 2.

According to her account, Bee works at a nearby beer bar. That evening, she left early out of concern for her foreign husband, who had been drinking heavily. As she entered the darkened alley, a man aged around 30 to 40 called out for help in English, leading her to believe it might have been her husband.

When she stopped to check, the stranger pulled out a knife and forced her into an abandoned building. There, he threatened to kill her and declared his intent to rape her. At one point, her phone rang, which appeared to anger him further. Believing she might be contacting police, he struck her head against a wall, leaving her with lacerations and heavy bruising.

Bee begged for her life and offered her belongings in exchange for freedom. The assailant then cut through her clothes with the knife, took 300 baht in cash, her Huawei Y9 mobile phone, and two lottery tickets. During the struggle, she managed to break free and escape, fleeing half-dressed on her motorbike to safety.

She later required five stitches to her mouth and treatment for multiple injuries.

Reporters who visited the scene described it as an abandoned building known as the “Luck 6” property, number 419. Although motorcycles were parked inside, and some doors appeared secured, no residents answered calls for inquiry. Locals said the building is often frequented by scavengers who collect and sell scrap materials, but no one was present during the attack.

Bee expressed fear that the assailant could strike again, either targeting women in the community or foreign tourists in the area. “I want the police to find him quickly before he hurts someone else,” she said.

Authorities have now launched an urgent manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large. Police confirmed they are collecting evidence and interviewing potential witnesses in the neighborhood.
