NAKHON PATHOM — A 47-year-old woman, Naphattaon, was found dead in a gruesome scene at her home in Sampran district on June 4, allegedly murdered by her 29-year-old cousin, Nice, after resisting a rape attempt by biting his tongue.
The discovery was made by Apisit, a relative, who had been sent by Nice’s aunt to bring him to Kanchanaburi. Unable to reach either individual, Apisit entered the locked home and found Nice bleeding and semi-conscious on the first floor, clad only in boxer shorts. Upstairs, he discovered Naphattaon’s lifeless body with a slashed throat, head injuries, and multiple bruises.
A bloodied, bent knife was found near the body. Investigators also recovered a piece of a severed tongue in the victim’s mouth, believed to belong to Nice, suggesting she bit him while defending herself.
Police suspect Nice, a known drug user who had undergone rehabilitation, attempted to sexually assault his cousin before killing her when she fought back. Nice, who tested positive for drugs, claimed that a mysterious intruder attacked them both—an account police view as highly suspicious.
A message sent from Naphattaon’s phone shortly before the incident read:
“Nice is going to kill me.”
Police are awaiting Nice’s recovery to formally charge him with murder and attempted rape, pending further evidence collection.
