Texas Teacher Arrested Over Student Vapes, Parking Lot Assault

Texas Teacher Charged Following Alleged Misconduct with Students, Including Incident in Walmart Parking Lot

ALICE, Texas — A Texas teacher and mother of four is facing felony charges after an investigation uncovered a pattern of alleged predatory behavior involving multiple students, including an incident in a Walmart parking lot where other minors were present.

Jaden Renee Charles, 26, was arrested and charged with an improper relationship between an educator and a student following an investigation that began after a student was found with a vape on campus. Authorities say the inquiry expanded to reveal alleged sexual relationships and the provision of THC vapes and alcohol to students.

According to court records, the most serious allegation stems from an early morning incident on February 29, 2024. Charles is accused of driving three students—ages 14, 15, and 16—to a Walmart in Alice, Texas, around 2:10 a.m. Police allege she created a barrier with a blanket inside her SUV before engaging in an inappropriate act with the 14-year-old boy in the front seat while the two other teenagers remained in the vehicle.

During the investigation, Charles also allegedly claimed to be pregnant with the 14-year-old student’s child—a claim that raised immediate concerns for investigators.

The inquiry began with the Agua Dulce Independent School District after a student was caught with a vape. Administrators learned Charles had allegedly supplied it. As law enforcement became involved, officials say they discovered evidence Charles may have provided THC vapes to several students, with some relationships allegedly beginning before her employment at the district.

City Marshal Joe Martinez stated that interviews with five male students revealed four confirmed inappropriate relationships with Charles, who allegedly provided them with THC vapes and alcohol. Evidence suggests the alleged misconduct spanned at least two counties—Nueces and Jim Wells.

Alice Police Chief Eden Garcia confirmed that concerned parents had contacted police, and investigators obtained video evidence of Charles with a student at a local hotel.

Charles has been removed from her position and placed on administrative leave. The school district is cooperating fully with law enforcement.

If convicted, Charles faces significant prison time, a permanent ban from education, and mandatory registration as a sex offender. The investigation remains active as authorities work to determine the full extent of the alleged abuse.
